If you want to study for a degree at the University of the Free State, certain expectations must be met:
- You should possess an NSC or NCV qualification with an endorsement that allows entry to degree studies (bachelor’s degree) or an equivalent qualification.
- You must satisfy all the minimum admission requirements for the programme you intend to study. However, it’s important to note that meeting these minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission, as there are limited spaces available in each programme.
- You need to have a minimum level of 4 (50%) in English Home Language or English First Additional Language.
- You must pass certain school subjects with a minimum level of achievement to take certain university modules. For instance, if you plan to study BSc majoring in Physics with Engineering subjects, you must obtain a mark of 70% for Mathematics in Grade 12. Please refer to the faculty-specific admission requirements section, which also specifies the compulsory subjects and achievement levels required per programme.
